For this collection of images, shot digitally, and processed in Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, I was inspired by the work of Cindy Sherman. I wanted to make fun of how seriously I can take myself when trying to be creative. I was also intrigued by how women perform in their day-to-day lives. There is pressure to "perform" or uphold society's standards for what it means to be a woman and what femininity is. There is pressure to be deep introspective and interesting all of the time. What happens when these daily performances of gender and depth are pushed over the line into the absurd and comical? Is it possible to break out of being perceived as too much or too little? What freedoms exist on the other side of the line?
