Typoday 2025 Poster – Typographic Storytelling
Fall 2024 – 420mm X 600mm Inkjet Print
My poster for this competition implicitly represents typographic storytelling. The expressiveness of the faces that I have created out of type, in combination with the quirky illustrated elements create a character that the veiwer can make inferences about. My composition is intended to leave the viewer hypothesizing over the relationships that exist between the faces, the stories behind each face, and the story of why all of these faces exist on the poster. I did my best to create faces that were easily identifiable and relatable, but were not based on stereotypes. I was influenced in this project by mid-century design, as well as the opening sequence of ‘The Brady Bunch” in my composition and use of design elements. Overall, I am pleased with how my composition turned out. This is a poster that I am proud of. I feel that it not only fits the description and theme for the competition but is visually appealing and something that I would be proud to hang on the wall of my home.
